THE Philippine Marine Corps has tendered a warm send-off for its deputy commandant who retired after 37 years of military service.
Brig. Gen. Romeo Racadio was honoured with a testimonial parade by the force.
“As I embark on this new chapter of my life, I’ll carry with me the lessons learned, the values forged, and the values engraved in my being. I leave the military with a deep sense of pride and gratitude knowing that the spirit of service and sacrifice will continue to thrive within our marine corps ranks,” Racadio said in his farewell remarks.
“If there are people who should be thankful for your service, it would be the men of the Philippine Navy and the Filipino people. Congratulations, you are finishing the race with flying colors. I know your journey in the service has taken you to as many places as possible,” said Navy flag officer in command Vice Adm. ToribioAdaci Jr.
Racadio, a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Sambisig” Class of 1991, served as commander of the 2nd Marine Brigade, Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi, and deputy commander of the Naval Intelligence and Security Force.
“Your amazing journey truly inspires us and your contribution will continue to guide and motivate our future generations of marines. Thank you for your outstanding service, untiring dedication and your strong leadership,” said PMC commandant, Maj. Gen. Arturo Rojas.
