BIR celebrates 120th anniv, bares new website

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has officially launched its new website through the issuance of Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 80-2024 and formal announcement during the 120th BIR Anniversary Program held on August 1 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

The enhancement of the BIR Website (www.bir.gov.ph) is a significant milestone under the BIR’s Digital Transformation Program, which was done in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). It was undertaken to make the BIR website more user-friendly and responsive to the needs of the Bureau’s various stakeholders by providing updated tax information and accessible online services 24/7.

The BIR said the new website features a completely revamped “look and feel” along with improved content presentation and layout. The Content Management System was also enhanced to include additional features such as notification bell for the Bureau’s Content Managers, multi-factor authentication, access control, and an audit trail to further enhance security.

BIR Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui, Jr. expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating that “the launch of the new BIR website marks a significant step towards the Bureau’s ongoing efforts to leverage technology for better service delivery and operational efficiency”.

“We believe that the enhanced BIR Website will significantly improve the way taxpayers interact with the Bureau, by making it easier for taxpayers to access tax information and online services as well as ensuring that the users’ data is secure,” the BIR chief said.
