Apart from serving as the commencement speaker for the Class of 2024, Romualdez also led the inauguration of RSU’s University Information System (UIS), a key component of its ICT (information and communications technology) Modernization Program.

“This project signifies a new era of smart campus in Romblon and will revolutionize the way information is managed and shared within the university,” according to the Speaker.

The UIS would streamline university processes, automate tasks, and enhance data security measures to ensure efficient operations and protect sensitive information.

“By leveraging technology and innovation, we aim to cultivate future-ready students who excel in the digital world and contribute to academic excellence and creativity. These initiatives will set RSU apart as a unique institution in the region and beyond,” Romualdez said.

The Leyte representative expressed confidence in the ability of RSU graduates to rise to the occasion and take on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

“As you embark on your next chapter, remember the values and skills instilled in you by RSU. Use them to make a difference in your communities and strive for excellence in everything you do,” he said.

The fourth highest government official in the country congratulated the graduates and praised the faculty, staff, and administrators of RSU for educating them.

“You have built a strong institution and enduring legacy upon which our future rests, and I am more bullish than ever on what is yet to come for your beloved State University,” Romualdez said.
