The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) issued a directive to its regional offices to prioritize public safety and well-being during the Undas 2024 holiday.
The NTC, in a memorandum, directed all its regional directors to coordinate with and extend assistance within their respective areas of jurisdiction, to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), Civic Action Groups (CAGs) and Amateur Radio Groups (ARGs) that will also render UNDAS 2024 public assistance operations.
It said this includes issuing temporary permits and licenses to facilitate safe travel for Filipinos.
The NTC regional offices are also tasked with securing the cooperation of radio, television and cable TV stations/operators to disseminate crucial public service information promptly.
They are also mandated to monitor the operations of CAGs and ARGs, including their coverage areas, contact information, radio frequencies, and base station locations, throughout the public service operation period.
The NTC said it remains committed to assisting the public and ensuring a safe and meaningful Undas observance.
