PLDT, Converge improve NAIA Wi-Fi

New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC) tapped PLDT Inc. and Converge ICT Solutions inc. to provide improved and reliable internet coverage at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The private operator of NAIA said passengers could now enjoy faster and more reliable free Wi-Fi following recent upgrades to internet connectivity.

The company said the average internet speeds at NAIA terminals significantly increased with passengers enjoying speeds of 50 to 60 megabits per second, with peak speeds reaching 115 Mbps.

An average of 1,000 users per hour connect to the “NewNAIA” free Wi-Fi network across all terminals.

Passengers can enjoy up to three hours of free access, eliminating the previous two-hour limit and the need to provide personal information.

“For air travelers, fast and reliable internet connectivity is a must,” said NNIC. “Whether it’s for completing online travel requirements, accessing information, staying connected with loved ones, or simply browsing social media, good internet access is essential at any modern international airport.”

These improvements are part of NNIC’s efforts to enhance the passenger experience at NAIA, the private operator said.

“We are committed to providing a high level of service that meets the expectations of today’s travelers,” NNIC said.

“In time, we hope to deliver on this promise across all aspects of NAIA operations,” it said.
