The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) launched the Intellectual Property Regional Development Plan (IPRDP) for Cagayan Valley, a strategic initiative to position the region as a pivotal East Asian gateway for investment.
The IPRDP gained support from various stakeholders, including regional government agencies, the private sector and educational institutions.
New partners to the IPRDP from the regional government include the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) from the region also supported the IPRDP, and academic institutions like the Batanes State College (BSC), Cagayan State University (CU), Isabela State University (ISU), Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU), and Quirino State University (QSU).
Industry partners formalized their commitment by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU), outlining their shared vision to create and implement a cohesive framework to safeguard and commercialize IP in the region.
