FFCAAI bowling tournament kicks off in San Juan

The 18th FFCAAI Cup Bowling Tournament, organized by the Federation of Filipino Chinese Alumni Associations Inc. (FFCAAI) and co-hosted by the Hope Christian High School Alumni Association, kicked off on Sept. 21, 2024 at the E-Lanes Bowling Center in San Juan City.

The tournament aims to promote sportsmanship and camaraderie among members of 27 alumni associations from Filipino-Chinese schools.  It is a flagship project of the FFCAAI.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Hope Christian High School Alumni Association president Cathy Dy, with the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) [resident Dr. Cecilio Pedro as the keynote speaker.

Natalie Sia, president of the Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF), administered the players’ oath and delivered a message on behalf of the organization.

FFCAAI president Golden David, along with other officers, also addressed the audience.

This year’s tournament received participation from different alumni associations including Chiang Kai Shek College, Philippine Cultural College, St. Stephen’s High School and Grace Alumni Associations.

There are also teams from the Alumni Association of Xavier School, St. Jude Catholic School, Hope Christian High School, Uno High School, Northern Rizal Yorklin School, Philippine Academy of Sakya, St. Peter the Apostle School, Philippine Institute of Quezon City, Iloilo Huasiong High School and the Immaculate Concepcion Academy Alumnae Association.

The competition will span six consecutive Saturdays, concluding with an awards ceremony on Oct. 27, 2024 following the final match.
