Rising screen star Shido Roxas could only be thankful that he’s going to have a “very busy” Christmas month. In fact, he has already started doing rounds promoting two films that will unspool this December.
Speaking to Manila Standard Entertainment, the 30-year-old film actor shared his being stoked for the inclusion of the suspense thriller Nelia in this year’s edition of Metro Manila Film Festival, while the other film he’s part of, Perry Escano’s Caught in the Act, screens on Dec. 15.
“It’s going to be a different Christmas for me, it’s busy but I am not complaining. I’m just thankful that the film I’m part of is another MMFF entry,” he said.
Nelia stars Winwyn Marquez and directed by Lester Dimaranan. The screenplay is written by one of its producers, Melanie Honey Quiño.
“We are proud of this film. It’s the only suspense thriller in this year’s lineup so I believe that gives Nelia a bit of an edge,” said Roxas who plays a doctor in the story.
In the movie, Marquez plays the title role, a nurse whose womanly instincts and gut feel are aroused by the mysterious cases happening in the hospital where she works. To what revelations her curiosity will lead her to uncover, all of it will be unraveled in this contemporary motion picture.
Apart from Roxas and Marquez, Nelia features an A-list cast that includes Mon Confiado, Dexter Doria, Lloyd Samartino, Dan Alvaro, Ali Forbes, and Raymond Bagatsing.
Also in the movie are Sarah Javier, April Anne Dolot, Massey Sanshoddin, Red Atienza, and introducing Juan Carlos Galano, and Aldwin Alegre.
The movie was shot in the postcard-perfect and IG-friendly location of Gapan, Nueva Ecija. The power tandem behind A and Q Productions Film, Inc. are Atty. Aldwin F. Alegre and Atty. Mary Melanie H. Quiño.
