Chinese fighter Miao Li Tao will be out for revenge when he meets Filipino fighter Jeremy Miado inside the cage next week in Singapore.
It has been two years since Miado brought down Miao. Since then, the Chinese has won payback against another fighter, who has beaten him in the past.
And this is why, the 5’8” Miado, also known as “The Jaguar,” is carefully preparing for a return match with Miao in the ONE: NEXT GEN, slated at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Oct. 29.
“Dapat hindi mangyari iyun. Hindi dapat. Kaya focused ako at pinaghahandaan ko kung ano ang puwede niyang gawin,” said Miado on Zoom, during a break in training in Thailand.
Miado, who has a 9-4 win-loss record in the flyweight division, has not had a fight in two years, since his victory with Miao.
And Miado noted that since then, the Chinese had exacted sweet revenge against Japanese Ryuto Sawada, who beat Miao at the ONE Championship – Reign of Dynasties 2 in October last year.
Miao got his payback when he won via unanimous decision over Sawada last April.
The 29-year-old Miao carries a fight record of 6-4-0 and is reeling from a recent setback to Alex Silva via unanimous decision during the ONE Championship-Battleground 2 last Aug. 13.
The Filipino fighter said he never expected to fight Miao, and was surprised to learn that the Chinese was seeking another bout with him.
“Nagulat ako nu’ng nalaman kong maglalaban kami ulit. Hindi ko alam kung bakit. Siguro, request niya,” added Miado.
