Local Cavite officials join Lakas-CMD

Cavite Vice Governor Ramon Revilla III on Tuesday afternoon led several local government officials from the province who joined the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party.

Lakas-CMD President and House Majority Leader and Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez administered the oath to Revilla, Cavite City Vice Mayor Denver Christopher Chua who will run for mayor, re-electionist Noveleta Mayor Dino Carlo Reyes Chua, and Board Member Christian Davey Chua.

Revilla, a former member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), will run for Congress in the 1st District of Cavite. The Chuas were former members of the Nacionalista Party (NP).

The entire team-members of Cavite City Vice Mayor Chua and Noveleta Mayor Chua also joined the Lakas-CMD party.

The whole ticket-members of Kawit City Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo and Rosario Mayor Jose Voltaire Ricafrente, both members of Lakas-CMD, were also sworn in Tuesday as new Lakas-CMD members.

Romualdez, chairman of the House Committee on Rules, was assisted by Lakas-CMD party chairman and Sen. Ramon Revilla, Jr., Lakas-CMD Secretary General and Deputy Speaker Prospero “Butch” Pichay Jr. of Surigao del Sur and Lakas-CMD Cavite Provincial Chairperson and Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla during the physical oath-taking held in Rosario, Cavite. 

“Welcome to the ever-growing Lakas-CMD. We will maximize the strength

of the party to help our people in this time of COVID-19 pandemic. Let us not forget our true priority: to serve the Filipino people,” Romualdez said.

“Lakas-CMD is re-emerging as a major political force, just in time for the coming elections. We will protect and safeguard the interest of our members and we are going to be a resilient and victorious team in the 2022 elections,” he added.

On Monday night, retired-Gen. Lope Dagoy was personally sworn into the Lakas-CMD party by Romualdez at his Batasan Pambansa Complex office in Quezon City.

“We are doing everything to strengthen the Lakas-CMD party for the upcoming 2022 national and local elections,” Romualdez said. “We are very proud to welcome them with pride and confidence that they exude the leadership and character that Lakas-CMD advocates for.”

The Lakas-CMD had produced two presidents, namely former Presidents Fidel Ramos and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
