DAR pursues door-to-door program

The Department of Agrarian Reform is set to distribute 7,311 hectares of agricultural lands to 7,035 agrarian reform beneficiaries in Negros Occidental come Sept. 9 and 10.

Secretary John Castriciones would spearhead the distribution of the certificates of land ownership award to the farmers in their farms and houses.

The lands to be distributed cover the 20 towns of Negros Occidental—Binalbagan, Calatrava, Candoni, Cauayan, Magalona, Hinigaran, Hinoba-an, Ilog, Isabela, La Castellana, Manapla, Moises Padilla, Murcia, Pontevedra, Pulupandan, Salvador Benedicto, San Enrique, Toboso and Valladolid.

“Under the DAR-to-door program, the Secretary will lead in delivering the land titles of ARBs right at their doorsteps to show the farmers that we bring the government’s services to their own home and give them hope that this administration can be relied upon,” Western Visayas regional director Sheila Enciso said.

Apart from land distribution, Castriciones would also install farmer-beneficiaries in Pontevedra.

“The installation is important as this will signify their ownership of the land,” Enciso said.
