“Primewater is geared toward offering better services to our concessionaires. These projects, along with those already in the lineup, will support this very important objective,” PrimeWater Vice President Romeo Sabater said.

PrimeWater has received feedback and suggestions on social media, and has been responsive to the concerns of its customers.

“We hear them,” Sabater said. “Sabi nga nila mawalan ka na ng kuryente, huwag lang ng tubig ‘di ba? That’s why we initiated these projects housed under our program Project BIDA.”

Recently, PrimeWater Batangas City and Batangas City Mayor Beverly Dimacuha inked a memorandum of agreement for the construction of two water pumping stations that will address the water shortage concerns of more or less 1,000 families.

Chelton Arias, PrimeWater Batangas City Branch Manager, said the Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) between Batangas City Water District and PrimeWater paved the way for a more consistent water supply and pressure in Batangas City.

“Only 3 out of the 60 barangays in Batangas City don’t have 24/7 water supply since the JVA, but with the additional pumping stations, these three barangays will benefit from it,” Arias said.

Meanwhile, in Camarines Norte, a 4.1-kilometer pipeline extension is being built from barangay San Jose Talisay to barangay Bagsag Daet that will boost water availability for 300 households.

In San Jose, Mindoro, an on-going water source development project is being constructed to address the water supply of its concessionaires during the dry season in twelve barangays that will affect over 4,000 households.

“This project aims to address the no water and low-pressure problems,” said Jeffrey Gunay, PrimeWater Mindoro’s former Cluster Operations Head.

“The project is 80 percent completed and is expected to be energized by this year,” he ended.

PrimeWater Metro Leyte also has an on-going project to fix and add more distribution lines which aim to add 4,000 service connections in Downtown Phase 2 and San Jose Phase 3.

“The problem of High Non-Revenue Water (NRW) and pilferages that have been hurting the Water District for a long time will now be addressed by abandoning these old existing distribution pipelines and utilizing the new ones,” PrimeWater Leyte branch Manager John Paul Delgado said.

Meanwhile in North Luzon, projects like the erection of a booster station, construction of bulk water receiving facility, and creation of surface water treatment plant were completed and inaugurated in Subic, San Jose Del Monte Bulacan and San Carlos Pangasinan respectively.

Cezar Ong, PrimeWater’s Head of Operations in North Luzon, stressed the importance of water during the pandemic and the support of PrimeWater in helping the local water districts to improve its residents’ lives.

Likewise, the availability of additional water sources in Davao, through PrimeWater Panabo, benefitted the Panaboans according to PrimeWater Panabo’s branch manager Cristina Bonghanoy.

Sabater considers Project BIDA as a vital step to PrimeWater’s mission to provide potable, reliable, and sustainable water to Filipino communities.

“PrimeWater’s construction of these projects are in various phases. While some are already realized, others will take some time, but all these will definitely provide a positive impact in our water services, especially in the future,” he said.
