Max’s Group honors Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz with P3M incentive

Max’s Group, Inc. (MGI), the country’s largest casual dining restaurant group, is proudly honoring Olympic heroine weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz with a P3 million cash incentive in recognition of her historic gold medal – the nation’s first in its near-100 years of participation in the iconic global quadrennial event.

The incentive comes in fulfilment of a P10.5 million pact signed in 2019 between the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) and MGI, which operates such beloved restaurant brands as Max’s Restaurant, Pancake House, Yellow Cab Pizza Co., Krispy Kreme, Dencio’s, Jamba Juice, Sizzlin’ Steak, and Teriyaki Boy.

Over the past two years, the Group had previously endowed the POC with both cash to fund its own day-to-day organizational operations as well as meals for the national pool of athletes and coaches across various NSAs.

In celebration of her historic achievement and in support of the entire Philippine team, the company plans to also welcome each Olympians back with their choice of Max’s Group favorites.

Diaz, for one, shared how much she loves Max's Kare-Kare.

"We would like to thank MGI for their continuous generosity to our Filipinos athletes, especially for our first ever gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz. They have been our partner since 2019 and they have always championed Philippine sports through their support of the Philippine Olympic movement,” said POC President and Cavite Rep. Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino.

“We at MGI are proud to champion the best of Filipino cuisine and hospitality both locally and across the globe,” said President & CEO Robert Trota.

“Our athletes do the same as flag bearers for Filipino courage, commitment, and bayanihan on the world stage. We are humbled by the greatness demonstrated by the likes of Hidilyn Diaz. Through her drive, determination, and discipline, we see the best of the unconquerable Philippine spirit even in these challenging times,” Trota added.
