The return of the National Capital Region to general community quarantine (GCQ) status, which postponed the Miss World Philippines finals, proved a blessing in disguise for candidate Dindi Joy Pajares. In a surprise move by the Miss World Philippines Organization, led by its national director Arnold Vegafria, the candidates were asked to vote on who they thought fit the Miss Supranational Philippines 2021 title at stake.
Pajares, 28, who was in the Top 10 of the Beach Beauty Challenge fast track event, topped the candidates’ votes and was crowned Miss Supranational Philippines 2021 ahead of the grand coronation night on Aug. 8.
The 5-foot-8 native of Orani, Bataan works as a flight attendant and is a sergeant of the Philippine Air Force Reserve Command. She was a member of Flight Alpha, Sinag at Lakas ng Hukbong Himpapawid (SINAGLAHI) BCMT Class of 2021 of PAF RESCOM Training.
Pajares, who is on her fourth national pageant, was a pilot student when she competed in Bb. Pilipinas 2016 where she was named in the Top 15. She competed again the following year but was unplaced. She also joined Miss Philippines Earth 2011 where she finished in the Top 20.
Pajares has been a supporter of “She Weaves,” a social enterprise in Bataan, which campaigns for inclusivity. Through “She Weaves,” she worked for the Ayta Magbukun Community and the indigenous people in Bataan in bridging the gap towards inclusive economic development, particularly, the Ayta Magbukun community “Aytapreneurs” through weaving program.
The 12th edition of the Miss Supranational is happening in Nowy SÄ…cz, MaÅ‚opolska, Polan on Aug. 21 with 56 delegates from around the world competing for the title currently held by Thailand’s Anntonia Porsild.
John “The Outlaw” Adajar competes in Mister Supranational
Filipino Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) and 2-time URCC Global Welterweight Champion John Edgar “The Outlaw” Adajar is set to fight, not inside the caged fighting arena, but on the global male pageant stage.
Adajar, 25, was named Mr. Supranational Philippines 2021 by the Miss World Philippines Organization.
The 5-foot-11 MMA professional fighter from Laguna started his professional career in mixed martial arts, referred to as cage fighting, no holds barred and ultimate fighting combat sport, in 2016, now sporting a 5-win / 1-loss pro-MMA record. Read full story on manilastandard.net
