Pinoy Big Brother alumna Kisses Delavin and Asia’s Next Top Model winner Maureen Wroblewitz are among the official delegates in this year’s Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
On July 19, Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) officially announced the top 100 delegates viewing for the coveted Miss Universe Philippines crown.
“Universe, here is the last group of ladies to complete our official delegates for this year’s pageant,” MUP revealed the last batch of 100 ladies on its Facebook page which included Delavin and Wroblewitz.
Born Kirsten Danielle Delavin, the 22-year-old actress is no stranger to pageants. Even before joining showbiz, she had already won several pageant titles in her hometown, Masbate. These included Miss Masbate and Miss Kaogma in 2016, and Miss Teen Masbate in 2013.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old model Wroblewitz revealed in June that apart from acting, she also has plans to further make a mark in showbiz by venturing into beauty pageants.
“I’ve always considered joining a pageant. As in my other old interviews, I’ve said that I’ve always considered it and I’m not closing my doors. I did say that when I feel ready I would consider it,” she shared during a media conference as a new Star Magic Artist.
This year’s edition of MUP has a different screening format where the list of 100 delegates will be narrowed down to 30 finalists through a series of challenges in the succeeding weeks. In compliance with the strict health protocols, all challenges will be done remotely and virtually so they won’t have to travel all the way to Metro Manila where MUP is based.
Only the Top 50 will be needed to fly to Manila for live interview challenges with the MUP’s board of judges.
Finally, the Top 30 will be the only ones to compete in-person during the coronation night.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 coronation night is scheduled on Sept. 25 where MUP 2020 Rabiya Mateo will crown her successor.
