Television star Andrea Torres believes that her role in GMA’s upcoming drama, Legal Wives, is one for the books—it’s a character that any actor would be proud to tackle because it can give a lasting impression.
In a recent virtual event where the actress also announced that she was renewing her ties with her mother network, GMA, Andrea shared that she wanted to make a legacy as an actor by portraying roles she hasn't done before.
“Ang pinaka challenge for me is kailangan lagi siyang (the character) maintindihan sa mga actions niya kasi meron siyang mga gagawin dito na parang kung ikaw yung nasa posisyon niya or sa pagkakakilala mo sa kanya hindi niya dapat gagawin,” Andrea said of her character.
Since the series revolves around a sacred culture, she shared that her character should be portrayed carefully in order for the audience to receive the right message of the story about Muslims.
“Legal Wives wanted to enlighten the audience about the culture of polygamy. It’s something big and at the same time something new in mainstream media. It’s the overall story that made me say yes to this project,” she expressed.
Meanwhile, on renewing her contract with GMA, she could only thank the network for giving her another opportunity to hone her talent and share her artistry with the audience.
“Always grateful ako sa GMA, sa trust na binibigay nila sakin talaga. That’s why I always try to deliver as my way of giving back to the network,” Andrea stated.Legal Wives, airing on July 26 on primetime, also stars Dennis Trillio, Alice Dixson, Cherie Gil, and Bianca Umali.
