US pop princess Ariana Grande bares her soul in the live performance of “pov,” a ballad culled from the Positions album. It’s part of the pop star’s exclusive live performance series with Vevo.
The 27-year-old singer has teamed up with Vevo for past performances such as “off the table,” a track also from Positions, and “Love Me Harder” from her sophomore record, My Everything.
“We are so excited to release these exclusive video performances to Ariana’s fans. We’ve loved Ariana’s music for years, and it’s been such a privilege to watch her artistry grow and evolve,” Vevo’s JP Evangelista said in a statement.”
Clad in a body-hugging black two-piece ensemble and violet satin gloves, the singer looked sultry in the equally stunning set that almost seemed to transport her in an open field.
“An immensely creative and collaborative artist is key to these visually stunning performances and Ariana embodies that — her efforts translated beautifully on-screen. We look forward to seeing her continue to blossom and hope everyone enjoys watching these,” Evangelista added.
“pov” is the closing track for Ariana’s sixth and latest album Positions and debuted at no. 40 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In an interview with Zach Sang, Ariana revealed the meaning behind the chorus of the track.
“You know how everyone has the little things that you’re like ‘Ugh, how could you like that?’, you know?” she said.
“And you see someone who you’re madly in love with and you’re just kind of like ‘I’m floored,’ I’m like choking up. […] I was like ‘I’d love to see me from his point of view,’” she ended.
