EG sends home all-Pinoy TNC Predator after best of three back-and-forth

Evil Geniuses (EG) eliminated all-Filipino team TNC Predator from the WePlay AniMajor on Friday (Philippine time).

TNC Predator’s AniMajor journey came to a close at the hands of EG, which emerged victorious in a best-of-three elimination round after a grueling set of back and forth matches.

Game 1 posed a bad look for TNC Predator as the team was stomped and out-drafted by the North American squad after a final score of 36-3, with the game put to a stop just before the 30-minute mark. So commanding was EG that commentators dubbed the game as the most one-sided match of the tournament.

Game 2, however, saw a comeback for the Filipinos as TNC Predator battled it out to force EG to throw in the towel as mid laner Armel’s Templar Assassin swept the board with a rampage, killing all members of EG.

Game 3 started off with immense pressure from EG, with Singaporean Daryl “iceiceice”  Koh picking his signature hero, Timbersaw. With TNC Predator’s lineup focusing on control and utility, it was not enough for EG’s damage and strategy with Filipino EG player Abed Yusop poking in damage every once in a while to divert attention with his Ember Spirit.

Ultimately, the final team fight of the game saw a slaughter on TNC Predator’s side of the map as the damage was too much to handle.

EG continues its WePlay dream when it faces the loser of Team Nigma vs PSG.LGD.

TNC Predator, though, is still eligible to fight for the coveted Aegis and a hand at the $40M prize pool.

“It has been a hard run from the beginning, but we gave our all even towards the bitter end. Despite getting eliminated early in this major, we will not stop pushing towards that Aegis! We will see you guys in the regional qualifiers,” tweeted the official page of TNC Predator.
