It’s never easy saying goodbye to a project that has given you so much experience. But Pauline Mendoza, the female lead in Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat, its ending is just the beginning of more “beautiful things” to look forward to.
In a series that tackles a dramatic story of a family and highlights the strength of a young woman, viewers can learn a few things especially from the characters that its lead stars portray.
“Iris is such a strong woman. A lot of people can resonate with her. I personally can relate to her because she’s taught me so many things. She’s not just a character, she’s someone you can emulate because she’s a symbol of hope and strength,” Pauline shared with Manila Standard Entertainment in a virtual interview.
As the series airs its final episode today, the star-studded cast of Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat also sends their sincerest gratitude to all their followers for the overwhelming feedback and for allowing the show to pull off a victory in the ratings game. Further, the cast members are also grateful to all the viewers for following the journey of different characters who have different reasons for wanting to get back whatever it is they lost.
Moreover, Pauline shares the biggest lesson she wants the viewers to learn from her character, “’Yung pagiging strong niya as a person. Lalo ngayon na may pinagdadaanan tayong pandemic, maraming tao ang nalulungkot at nagkakaroon ng anxiety. ‘Yung character ni Iris, sobrang dami niyang pinagdaanan sa buhay at isinakripisyo para sa pamilya niya. Just have faith in God and believe in yourself. You need to learn how to stand using your own feet,” Pauline added.
Liezel Lopez, in turn, expresses what she hopes for the viewers to witness should there be another season, “I wanted to share with the viewers kung ano ‘yung background story ni Trina. Bakit siya lumaking masama? Ano ‘yung nangyari sa kanila sa Japan? Bakit longing siya sa pagmamahal ng isang tatay at sobrang mahal na mahal niya si Randall? Mas maganda kung laliman ‘yung story niya.”
“She’s more to share than her being an antagonist,” she carried on.
Meanwhile, Dave Bornea reveals some of his greatest takeaways from starring in the series, “Best gift for me is ako po ‘yung napiling main leading man ni Pauline and I was given the chance na maipakita ‘yung work ko, my commitment to my character, and the experience with my co-stars. Of course, ‘yung aral din po from our veteran co-actors na sobrang generous when it comes to sharing ‘yung ideas and learnings for our craft.”
Playing equally vital roles in the series are Neil Ryan Sese as Inspector Jun, Therese Malvar as Lala, Tanya Gomez as Menchie, Gio Alvarez as Greg Madrigal, and Manolo Pedrosa as Justin Roxas.
This original series, created by the GMA Entertainment Group, is headed by SVP for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, FVP for Drama Redgie A. Magno, SAVP for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, Senior Program Manager Anthony R. Pastorpide, and Executive Producer Nieva S. Magpayo.
