Taguig app only tool for list-up

The Taguig City government on Tuesday reminded residents it never uses Facebook and other social media platforms to make appointments and confirm schedules for COVID-19 vaccination.

The city, according to Mayor Lino Edgardo Cayetano, is using the Taguig Registry for Assessment and City Engagements (TRACE) Application as registration tool.

He said only those with a confirmed slot from the City Health Office can be vaccinated on-site.

Cayetano reminded residents to be wary of unscrupulous individuals offering vaccination slots online. He warned that individuals involved in these activities can face criminal charges.

The city chief executive said at the moment, they prioritize the medical and emergency frontliners, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities in their continuing vaccination rollout.

Taguig strictly follows the vaccine priority list set by Department of Health as they are the ones most vulnerable to the virus.

“The city continues to vaccinate those who are in categories A1, A2, at A3. We prioritize them because they are the most vulnerable sector.

These are the most vulnerable sectors that if infected, there are high chances that they will experience severe symptoms,” Cayetano said.

Meanwhile, Cayetano announced that Taguig will be receiving at least 28,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.

“Today, we got the good news. Around 28,000 doses of AstraZeneca will be coming in and as soon as it arrives, we will start using it in our

vaccination centers,” said Cayetano, who thanked the national government and the World Health Organization for their continuing assistance in providing vaccines to local government units.

The shipment of two million British-made AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines arrived over the weekend from COVAX facility.
