The City Government of Navotas completed Monday the inoculation of priority A1 frontliners.
Some 1,297 resident and non-resident frontliners who registered in the city’s COVID-19 vaccination program have received their shots. Of this number, 178 have been given the second dose.
Navotas will also resume the vaccination of senior citizens following the decision of the Food and Drug Authority to allow them to have Sinovac Biotech’s CoronaVac vaccine.
“Amid the continuous increase in COVID-19 infections and the delay inthe delivery of other vaccines, we welcome the decision of the FDA toallow seniors to have the CoronaVac jab,” Mayor Toby Tiangco said.
“It is urgent that we vaccinate all our seniors as soon as we can. They are one of the most vulnerable sectors and they need to be protected immediately from this deadly disease.”
As of April 12, Navotas has also vaccinated 892 seniors and 1,686 persons with comorbidity. Jun David
