TNC Predator, 5 other PH teams join Predator League

An all-Filipino squad will make up Team TNC Predator, one of six Filipino esports squads in the online-only Predator League 2020/21 Grand Final.

Team manager Arjay Domdom said they are ready to confront many international teams that will go up against them when action takes place from April 6 to 11.

“The group is excited, motivated and confident, considering that this is our first Asia Pacific Grand Finals,” said Domdom in a Zoom huddle with scribes.

TNC Predator, since the start of the year, has won four of six matches in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: S1-Southeast Asia Upper Division.

Last September, TNC Predator took home $50,000 in the ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia.

The year before, they took in $300,000 in the Mars Dota 2 League.

They will be joined by TroubleMaku and Gamers Lounge, which will go for the top honors in the PUBG event.

TNC Predator, along with Neon Esports and Reckoning Esports,  will seek prizes at stake in the Dota 2 game.

Among the regular players expected to participate for the Predators are Kim Villafuerte, Armel Tabios, Jun Kanehara and Timothy Randrup.

A newbie, Marvin Rushton, is the latest addition to their list of players.

The Grand Finals is pushing through after a one-year layoff brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.

Numerous teams that have been  invited by Acer will now be able to showcase their skills in the coming competition.

A total prize of $400,000 is pooled across qualifiers to the four sub-tournaments. The winners will also be given the coveted APAC Predator League Shield and Acer Predator products.

The brotherhood of TroubleMaku will also attempt to take home the championship as well as the up-and-coming Gamers Lounge.
