In the program ‘Kaya Mo Yan’ on DZRH, former assistant secretary of tourism Ricky Alegre and co-host Lester Codog challenged Hugpong Ng Pagbabago Secretary General Anthony Del Rosario to give their listeners the real score about the presidential run of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
The call for the presidential daughter to run grew louder over the past weeks as billboards with “Run Sara Run” sprouted all over the country. Most, if not all, the major surveys have shown Sara Duterte as the leading candidate in the presidential race for 2022.
President Rodrigo Duterte, however, has been adamant and clear that he does not want his daughter to run in 2022. Mayor Sara, on the other hand, has been quiet about it, and has said that she has no plans of running — saying in jest that she would run in 2034.
But we’ve all seen this play before. Her father announced and ran at the last minute. Will Sara do as her father did? Will Anthony Del Rosario have the answer?
Del Rosario is a known ally and trusted confidant of Mayor Sara, having built the Hugpong Ng Pagbabago along with the good mayor as their own Regional Party.
Guess we all have to wait and listen if HNP Secretary General Anthony Del Rosario heeds the radio hosts’ invitation to spill the beans on Mayor Sara running.
