Potential gas leak explosions from substandard liquefied petroleum gas were prevented after recent raids in Sto. Tomas and San Juan, La Union resulted in the seizure of 32 illegally refilled and distributed Solane LPG tanks.
The confiscated cylinders reportedly amounted to almost P70,000.
In Sto. Tomas, five tanks worth P11,150 were seized in Barangay Patac. Four of the Solane cylinders were illegally refilled.
In Barangay Namboongan, 17 tanks worth P39,950 were confiscated, of which 16 were illegally refilled.
In Barangay Urbiztondo, 10 tanks, of which three were illegally refilled, were also seized.
