‘MayniLove’ unwraps; Isko: Site open to public

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso Tuesday enjoined Metro Manilans and even those from nearby provinces to come and visit the city’s open-air Valentine venue called ‘MayniLove,’ located at the Mehan Garden near City Hall, saying it will be open to the public daily, up to February 15 and admission is free.

Domagoso was joined by Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan in launching the said city government’s Valentine offering for Manilans the other night, which was also attended by project head business permit and licensing office chief Levi Facundo, city engineer Armand Andres and department of tourism, culture, and arts in Manila (DTCAM) chief Charlie Dungo, among others.

In her speech, Lacuna-Pangan said the new venue is not only meant for those who are romantically involved like spouses, partners and even those in the courtship stage, but may also be enjoyed by families, friends, and workmates.

Domagoso for his part, enjoined the visitors to heed the call of Lacuna for them to continue practicing utmost safety and the basic health protocols while visiting ‘Maynilove’ or any other part of the city for that matter.

“Help us promote this event… those living in Metro Manila and the neighboring provinces… you are welcome in Manila. Let us help stall owners earn a living,” Domagoso said, as he pointed out that many gift and food items can be bought in the venue at cheaper prices for those who have the budget.

Facundo said ‘MayniLove’ will be open daily, from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. from February 1 to 15, 2021. Apart from items on sale, there are also food stalls and a live band inside the venue.

“The lights, the music, the ambience will certainly put you in the mood. Our holograms, 3D art walls and of course the LOVE sculpture serve as our centerpiece,” Facundo said.

While the mayor had envisioned the idea with the people of Manila in mind to have a beautiful place where they can spend their time with their loved ones without spending a lot, Facundo stressed that the wearing of face masks and face shields are required and those who refuse to follow the regulations will be denied entry.

“We close the gates when we reach 2,000 persons in our counter. We should maintain 50 percent capacity only, which is 2,500 persons in all,” Facundo added.
