PABA secretary general Pepe Munoz got confirmation on the postponement last Monday following an email that was communicated to the Philippine by the Mexico’s National Olympic Committee.

Munoz earlier got word that there were worries that some participating countries won’t show up for World Cup.

“We are hopeful that it will be rescheduled, perhaps, after the Olympic Games. As for the national team, we will suspend training,” said Loyzaga.

Because of concerns on the present situation on the coronavirus pandemic, Loyzaga is hopeful that they can restart the training of the national team under better conditions.

Loyzaga added that they were supposed for a form an national under-12 team for the Asian Championships.

But the Baseball Federation of Asia also cancelled their event for the second time. It will now be held in 2022.

“At this point, medyo na stop kami,” added Loyzaga.

Officials of the PABA will be meeting on their plans of action in the coming days.

There are 12 countries that were supposed to join the Tijuana tiff. These include Canada, Venezuela, the United States, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico.

Also listed are the Netherlands, France, Japan, Taipei and Australia.
