Operatives of the Makati City police station drug enforcement unit led by its commander P/Col. Harold Depositar with the help of anti-narcotics men from the National Capital Region Police Office arrested the suspects during a buy-bust operation along Kalayaan Avenue in Barangay West Rembo around 9:35 p.m.

Aside from the recovered 900 grams of shabu, the authorities also found in the suspects’ possession two mobile phones, three paper bags and one sling bag, and the marked money used in the entrapment operation.

The police operation stemmed from a tipped-off information from concerned citizens about the illegal activity of the suspects in the area.

The suspects are now detained at the Makati City Police Station and will be charged with violation of Sec. 5 and Sec 11 Article II of R.A. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Depositar said they are looking into the possibility that the suspects relate to the other group of arrested suspects operating, not only in Makati but also in other cities in Metro Manila.

SPD director Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta commended his men for the latest accomplishment. He said the series of police operations is part of the continuing crackdown on drug dealing in Metro Manila.

“A well-coordinated and concerted efforts always yield a positive and commendable result. Congratulations to Makati police for another notable accomplishment”, he said.

Late last year, elements from the Makati City police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Southern Police District also arrested three individuals, including a minor, and seized more than P1 million worth of shabu.

The main target of the police operation 30-year-old Kristina Taculod, who uses an alias Neng, was arrested along with her cohorts Rodelio Ramos, 39, and a 15-year-old girl.

Prior to the suspects’ arrest, the authorities made a surveillance operation after a police informant reported to the Central Police District – Kamuning Police Station the illegal activities of one alias Neng said to be engaged in drug dealing in Barangay Rizal, Makati City.

The station’s officer in-charge immediately informed the Drug Enforcement Unit and coordinated with officials of the PDEA – National Capital Region office about the veracity of the report.

The PDEA – NCR confirmed that the subject person was among the persons in its drug watchlist.

The police arranged the entrapment and one of their operatives disguised as a buyer who able to negotiate with the suspects which resulted in their arrest.

Seized from the suspects were 150 grams of shabu, P70,000 boodle money used in the drug bust, and three mobile phones.
