Looking for a new indoor plant? Build it!

Many people have developed a liking for growing and nurturing plants in their living spaces since the pandemic has forced everyone to stay indoors. These leafy companions have been a wonderful way to brighten up homes and pass the time—if you can keep them alive.

Good news for those who love plants but just can’t stop killing them (because of lack of plant care knowledge), as they can now build them.

Yes, build them.

The LEGO Group launches a new decorative collection that builders can build into colorful plants that they can display after, no watering required. The LEGO Botanical Collection includes LEGO Flower Bouquet and LEGO Bonsai Tree.

The 756-piece Flower Bouquet set features a host of beautiful blooms in stunning colors that older builders can customize. A combination of snapdragons, roses, poppies, asters, daisies, and different leaves can be arranged in the bouquet in a number of ways to suit the mood of the builder and the design of the room.

The over 14-inch blooms could be a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift idea—just make sure the receiver is a fan of building their own gifts, of course.

Meanwhile, the Bonsai Tree model building kit consists of 878 pieces and comes with a rectangular pot and slatted wood-effect LEGO stand. Builders can enjoy a sense of calm as they carefully shape the bonsai tree model, which stands at seven inches when complete, with either green leaves or pink cherry blossoms.

“As adults look for new ways to switch off and relax, we’re delighted to be able to help them seek solace from their busy everyday lives as they immerse themselves in creating these beautiful botanical builds,” says Jamie Berard, design lead at the LEGO Group.

Both sets include a number of elements made from plant-based plastic, produced using sustainably sourced sugarcane. They are now available at LEGO certified stores and major retailers for P3,499.75 each set.
