“We are very excited that Mark wanted the baby out now like everyday niyang sasabihin na ‘labas ka na anak, labas ka na.’ Sabi ko: ‘hindi pa!’ I’m excited in a way, just like every parent, we would prepare for baby stuff, you know, nesting. We’re trying to complete the things that the baby is going to need,” Aicelle beams noting that she’s “very pregnant” at the beginning of the interview.

Joining the virtual chat with the Kapuso singer was her husband who shared with us the story behind the name that they chose for their child.

Aicelle and Mark celebrated their first wedding anniversary while anticipating the birth of their daughter.

“Zandrine came from ‘Sandrine’ with an S, and yung Sandrine with an S came from the name Alexandria, which also came from the name Alexander which means ‘protector of men.’ So, it has a biblical reference,” the GMA News reporter says.

“I think the name fits my daughter kasi nga yung mom niya is a very level-headed woman, very strong character, so feeling ko mai-inherit niya yun,” Mark carries on.

The couple tied the knot on Nov. 16 last year after dating for three years. Now that they are living under one roof, Aicelle talks about how has her married life so far.

“It is still getting to know ‘you’ kasi first time namin magkasama sa isang bubong and because of COVID it’s 24/7, we can’t get rid of each other,” Aicelle says in jest.

“You now see the things you don’t notice about each other when you we’re still dating. It’s an experience na marami ‘kang matututunan about yourself and about your partner,” Aicelle adds.

Singer and actress Aicelle Santos talks about the things she looks forward to being a mother.

While anticipating the arrival of Zandrine, the singer-actress admits that just like any other expectant mother she also had fears and went through an emotional stage.

“Pregnant women are hormonal and more emotional and tend to overthink. First, the fear of getting COVID-19 because we don’t know what the effects of COVID-19 would be in your baby. For me, yung first trimester was the most emotional time kasi nga dun mo nabalitaan na buntis ako and I think its the same for everyone, pregnant or not kasi March yun eh…ako I found out I was pregnant in April eh onset yun ng pandemic.”

“Good thing my doctor has a private clinic so it gives me peace of mind. I’m not afraid to go out for checkups. But of course, with all the things happening now, you just pray and lift it all up to Him,” she ends also alluding to her latest single entitled “Dasal.”
