Attending events—large and small—and meetings for about almost anything seems like a memory from a distant past.
Thanks to technology, people can still gather, albeit virtually, and discuss important topics or witness a milestone, bridging the gap of communication in the time of limited gatherings.
Those who prefer face-to-face interactions or want to level up the sometimes dreary experience of looking at and speaking to our computer monitors are beginning to look for ways to conduct their affairs in the way they did before the pandemic.
Bringing another innovative service that caters to the evolving needs of the public, Hilton launches in the Philippines the Hilton EventReady with CleanStay.
Hilton EventReady with CleanStay is an industry-leading cleanliness program specific to meetings and events.
EventReady is line with the chain’s CleanStay global program, launched in April of this year, which features high standard housekeeping and hygiene practices and upgraded protocols to provide guests with assurance and peace of mind.
“Now, more than ever, safety has emerged as the top concern for travelers as consumers become more conscious about the need for heightened cleaning and hygiene practices,” Paul Hutton, vice president of operations at Southeast Asia Hilton, said in a pre-recorded video at the Manila launch which was simultaneously held at Hilton properties across Southeast Asia.
“Given that meetings and events are a core part of our business, it is vital that we are ready to meet the needs of our partners and clients who choose to hold events at our hotels,” added Hutton.
As part of the hotel chain’s brands, Pasay-based Conrad Manila implements the program, which begins from guests’ pre-arrival through checkout.
A Hilton EventReady with CleanStay inspection is performed in the venue to ensure that the room’s touchpoints have been properly set and cleaned per CleanStay standards.
The said checklist, which is also available in digital format, includes door pulls, thermostat controls, lighting controls, phones, stationary room furniture, sanitizing station, tables, chairs, podium, stage items, window shades and drape controls, audio visual equipment, physical distancing guidelines, third party vendor compliance, team member PE, and food and beverage.
Each room will be disinfected using hospital-grade cleaning products and UVC light. As an added assurance, each cleaned and disinfected room will be sealed with a sticker on the door.
Following the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases guidelines on gatherings, Conrad Manila at the moment can only accommodate a maximum of 10 persons per meeting or event.
With distancing protocols in place, only one person will be seated per a six-foot table, which post-pandemic sits three persons. To make cleaning and sanitizing easier and much efficient, Conrad will not put linens on tables and chairs.
“The new standards in cleanliness are part of the ‘new normal’ that we will all have to navigate as an industry, and being customers ourselves, we know that we could expect nothing less,” said Conrad Manila’s incoming general manager Linda Pecoraro.
