Balanga City—The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) is partnering with the office of Bataan 2nd district Rep. Joet Garcia for the revival of the mango industry in the province.
BPSU Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Services Dr. Hermogenes Paguia said the lawmaker expressed high hopes that with the creation of the Mango Industry Development Council in the province, “Bataan mango” will establish its name in the local and global markets.
The revival of mango industry, he said, will be a boost to the economy of the province.
Paguia said the Provincial Tourism Office should be part of the technical working group of the proposed council, noting the potential of mango orchards for agro-tourism.
BPSU President Dr. Greg Rodis said the university has always supported sustainable innovations and researches.
“The innovations and researches we are doing in BPSU will mean nothing if these do not reach end users,” Rodis said.
