The Quezon City government’s website is now accepting complaints about establishments not complying with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) protocols.
Mayor Joy Belmonte on Wednesday said the city government’s official website is now ready to accept complaints regarding erring businesses that violate health protocols for appropriate action.
“We have put up a link on our official website where residents can confidentially report specific violations of a particular establishment so we can act on it immediately,” she said.
City residents can visit the city’s official website (quezoncity.gov.ph) and click on the People’s Corner section, where they can report details of business and infraction after a short registration process, the mayor said.
As alternative, residents can also visit the city’s E-services website (https://qceservices.quezoncity.gov.ph) where they can log-in (for existing users) or register (for new users) and report details of the business and its violation, she added.
“We need the help of our citizens. They are our helping arms and our eyes to go after negligent establishments that do not abide by the protocols,” Belmonte said.
The participation of residents is crucial, especially now that the city government has permitted the conduct of mall sales, bazaars, tiangges and similar activities at the onset of the holiday season to help revitalize the economy.
Based on its latest general community quarantine guidelines, the city government has allowed the holding of small social gatherings for milestone events, such as weddings, preferably in open-air spaces or naturally ventilated indoor spaces.
“We should intensify our monitoring since we are expecting more people to go out, especially during the Christmas season,” Belmonte said.
She told the residents to be on the lookout for possible violations, such as exceeding the capacity limitation, lack of social distancing, non-wearing of face masks and face shields, drinking beyond allowable hours, and drinking in public places, among others.
