Angeles City—The city government distributed Tuesday P2,000 cash aid to 148 senior citizens here mostly bedridden while under the care of their respective families in separate places in this city.
Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr. said the financial assistance is a gesture of concern by the city government for the elderly especially the sick. He said the distribution was done by visiting them during house-to-house distribution of cash.
Also distributed are calcium carbonate multivitamins supplements to strengthen the bones of our elderly, said Lazatin.
“Kamakailan ay nag-house to house ang mga miyembro ng office of the senior citizen affairs at gender and development upang mamigay ng P2,000 financial assistance at supply ng calcium vitamins sa ating mga bedridden senior citizens,” Lazatin shared.
The members of Gender and Development office headed by Mina Cabiles, and representatives of the Office for the Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) conducted the first days of the said house-to-house financial distribution in Barangays Lourdes Northwest (21); Sapangbato (14); Cuayan (4); Margot (9); Anunas (6); Sta. Teresita (21); Sta. Trinidad (7); and San Nicolas (8).

“Gusto nating siguraduhin na kahit ngayong panahon ng pandemya, tuloy pa rin ang serbisyo at programa ng city government, lalo na para sa mga senior citizens, particular sa pagtugon natin sa mga pangangailangan at sa kalusugan nila,” Lazatin said.
“Gaya noong nakaraang taon, house-to-house pa rin ang ginawa natin para sa distribution ng mga immediate needs nila,” Lazatin furthered.
It can be recalled that in January of this year, Mayor Lazatin has also distributed P2,000 financial assistance to 356 senior citizens aged 90 to 99 years old, along with free medical check-up, and free medicines.
The city government has also set aside P10 million for the social pension of elderly and persons with disabilities, and P3 million for solo parents.
