PayMaya Philippines Inc. said Tuesday its merchant partners increased significantly in September amid the coronavirus disease 2019 outbreak.
Paymaya said unique merchants in September climbed by more than 1,400 percent year-on-year, signifying an exponential increase in preference of merchants to deploy cashless payment technologies such as PayMaya QR, PayMaya One terminals and PayMaya Checkout online payment gateway for card and e-wallet payments in their different channels.
“Cashless and contactless payment and money transfer technologies are now part of the world’s arsenal against the virus. These touch-free digital solutions are saving lives, making commerce flow and bringing the economy get back to health,” said Orlando Vea, founder and chief executive of PayMaya.
