San Miguel Corp., in cooperation with the Technical Education Skills Development Authority, launches a massive skills and livelihood training program for residents of Bulacan province. An initial 60 students from Barangay Taliptip will get free training in metal arc welding, electrical installation and maintenance, heavy equipment operations, cookery and dressmaking to prepare them for opportunities in the airport project construction and operations and for self-employment. The P734-billion Manila International Airport and its adjacent economic zone are expected to produce millions of direct and indirect jobs to benefit Bulacan and the rest of Central Luzon.
