Magnus “Crazy Viking” Andersson plans to push the action when he takes on Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy for the latter’s ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title at the previously recorded ONE: A NEW BREED III, which airs this Friday.
Andersson makes his debut in The Home Of Martial Arts after a highly successful Muay Thai career that led him to the Lion Fight Super-Welterweight World Title.
Now he looks to turn more heads by putting the red-hot Petchmorakot onto the list of those he’s beaten.
“I’m going to be [bringing a lot of] pressure and feinting a lot, and I will try to push a lot to the left so I am always outside of his front foot,” Andersson told ONEFC.com.
“[I want to] avoid the big power from his kicks, and I can counter and get a good angle for boxing or even for putting in the elbows. This is how I visualize the fight, but it’s going to be a big war, for sure.”
While he plans to bring the heat against his favored Thai foe, he promises not to focus on going for a highlight-reel finish.
“If I knock him out, that would be the best feeling ever. But in my head, it’s more about winning. I just need to win,” Andersson said.
“I don’t have any idea of how it will happen, but I know I will put on a big war and I want to show everyone how big of a heart I have when it comes to fighting.”
At the end of the day, all that matters to the Swede is beating the best featherweight in ONE at the moment.
“I don’t know how to describe it,” Andersson said. “It would mean the whole world to me. It is the biggest [title] you can get in the whole sport.”
