Running out of rubbing alcohol?
Personal care brand Cleene partnered with Mercury Drug to open alcohol refilling stations in the latter’s select outlets in Metro Manila and Laguna.
Customers can bring clean empty bottles (250ml, 500ml, 1000ml) and have them refilled with Cleene Ethyl Alcohol 70 percent solution for a more affordable price.
A 250ml refill is priced at P30, 500ml at P58.75, and 1000ml at P117.50.
Each customer is only allowed a maximum of one liter volume per purchase. Bottles smaller than 250ml will not be accepted.
Aside from making disinfecting products more accessible to the public, Cleene also aims to reduce single-use plastic waste with its alcohol refilling stations.
In a statement, Philusa president and general manager Neogin A. Evangelista emphasized the need to uplift Filipinos through compassion and kindness.
“At Philusa, we emphasize the value of malasakit. Extending this simple virtue to our brothers and sisters during this pandemic period—whether by observing habits that will stop the spread of the virus, helping out in outreach programs, or promoting healthy practices to our family and friends—will save lives more than we know,” said Evangelista.
The Cleene Ethyl Alcohol refilling stations are now open in select Mercury Drug stores. Go to www.facebook.com/CleenePH for the list of participating outlets.
