PhilCement builds growing business on Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP

PhilCement Corporation (PhilCement), a subsidiary of Philippines conglomerate, Phinma Corporation, has gone live on Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to simplify key business processes including purchasing, order and inventory management, and financials. The migration of its back office to Oracle Cloud ERP supports the company’s mission to be a key player in local infrastructure development.

PhilCement launched a state-of-the-art cement facility in January 2020 as part of its expansion plan to lead the local and regional cement sector. The business needed a platform that could grow with it and after reviewing several options, PhilCement selected Oracle Cloud ERP for its broad functionality, robust security, zero maintenance, and its rapid update and innovation cycles.

“We’ve already seen benefits with the automation of certain back office transactions via Oracle Cloud ERP. Transactions of major finance processes are now being entered online in Oracle Cloud namely order to cash, purchase to pay, and book to report. During the recent lockdown across various parts of the Philippines, Oracle Cloud ERP helped in the smooth transition to remote working. PhilCement’s team entered the needed transactions securely in the cloud and could perform their jobs efficiently from home,” said Jose Crisanto Natividad, MIS head, PhilCement Corporation.

Managing finance on a single platform in the cloud can enable PhilCement to improve accuracy and automation of financial reporting and improve decision-making. By moving to Oracle Cloud ERP, PhilCement will be better positioned to adapt business models and processes to reduce costs, sharpen forecasts, and innovate more.

“PhilCement has an important vision to help build the Philippines and we are excited to be a part of their cloud journey. Our consistent product updates mean that PhilCement can always stay current with the latest innovation cycle, while achieving immediate business results. As businesses navigate the current uncertainties, we are helping our customers build resilient and adaptable businesses as they chart a course back to growth,” said Anna Tan, head of applications, Oracle Philippines.

PhilCement is under the Construction Materials Group (CMG) of Phinma Corporation and there are plans in the near future to migrate other subsidiaries onto Oracle Cloud ERP.
