The Las Piñas City government reported that 151 COVID-19 patients had recovered on Wednesday, bringing to 654 the total number of recoveries in the city.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar said most of those recovered patients came from Barangay Pulanglupa Uno (with 25 recoveries) followed by Barangay Manuyo Dos (12) and Talon Dos (12).
Others came from Almanza Uno, Almanza Dos, CAA, Daniel Fajardo, Manuyo Uno, Pamplona Tres, Pilar, Elias Aldana, Pulanglupa Dos, and Talon Kuwatro.
As of Wednesday, the city recorded 999 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 654 recoveries and 53 deaths. Of the 999 cases, 292 were described as active.
Aguilar said the city government and the Las Piñas City Health Office continued to combat the spread of the deadly virus with the help of community leaders and the residents' compliance to the health protocols.
Aguilar continues to appeal to residents to just stay home if they don’t have any official business outside.
She said the city government was also continuing its expanded targeted testing at the Ligtas Center located at Daniel Fajardo Fajardo to those with symptoms and with possible exposure to patients affected with the virus.
The city chief executive said aside from the expanded targeted testing that the city health office was conducting, the local government has a COVID-19 testing-on-wheels as part of efforts to reach out and serve all barangays.
So far, a total 6,844 individuals were examined in the city through swab testing while 10,028 via rapid testing.
