Caloocan City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan has sought help from Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong for more information on conducting effective contact tracing related to the fight against COVID-19.
Malapitan and the city’s department heads met with the Baguio City mayor through an online meeting as Magalong shared the effective methods of contact tracing to identify people who are positive for the coronavirus and how to prevent it from spreading.
Baguio City has only 131 COVID-19 cases, compared to Caloocan City’s more than 1,000 confirmed infections.
Malapitan thanked Magalong for the information he shared.
“We at the Caloocan City Government are always open to suggestions that can help prevent the escalation of COVID-19 cases,” Mayor Oca said.
The city’s disinfection team continues to clean and sanitize the entire Caloocan City Medical Center (CCMC), which was closed after some of its medical staff tested positive for COVID-19.
Every corner of the hospital has gone thorough decontamination to ensure it is free of viruses. CCMC will be opened to the public again on July 23, Malapitan said.
