Stars send love from their homes

Stars send love from their homesStar Magic artists Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Maja Salvador, Vina Morales, and Jake Cuenca were joined by younger members of the talent management like Donny Pangilinan, Diego Loyzaga, and Maymay Entrata in a zoom conference on June 20 to launch “Love From Home.”

“This project aims to raise funds for ‘Pantawid ng Pag-ibig (Isang Daan. Isang Pamilya.),’ which encourages Filipinos to donate P100 to ease the hunger of a family during this community quarantine,” Piolo said during the online event.

“Aside from spreading love in this time of pandemic, we also wanted to help our kababayan especially those who were greatly affected by the crisis,” the Star Magic actor added.

Part of “Star Magic: Love From Home” is “Lockdown Portraits,” a collection of photos of Star Magic artists taken during the quarantine, which shows different aspects of love, including self-love, love for the arts, love for family, and love for others.

The portraits come in three volumes with volumes 1 and 2 to be released on June 24 and 28, respectively. Meanwhile, the third and special volume will be available on July 5, and it will feature Star Magic’s most sought after loveteams.

During the online event, the stars talked about how they were able to successfully pull off such project without the help of a glam team, a photographer, and a crew to set up the shoot.

“We had to arrange everything, from clothes to our makeup, to setting up the camera. It was hard but enjoyable and we’re happy with the results. I decided to shoot at the fire exit because I couldn’t think of any other places that would look different from the usual view that my fans see on social media,” Maymay shared in Tagalog.

These stars along with other artists like Liza Soberano, Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Enrique Gil, and Gold Squad members Kyle Echarri, Seth Fedelin, Andrea Brillantes, and Francine Diaz, welcome fans into their homes as they share authentic, uplifting, and inspiring stories of love giving supporters a chance to know their favorite stars more behind the spotlight.

Fans will also be treated to a number of surprises with weekly fan sessions on TV and online where they can have fun and interact with the stars, bringing them closer to their favorite celebrities. These include Jeepney TV Love Team Bahay (July 4, 8:00 p.m.), Cinema One GCQ: Games with Celebrities on Quarantine (July 18, 5:00 p.m.), and Hotspot: The Love from Home with DJ Jhai Ho (July 25, 8:00 p.m.) which can be viewed on Facebook.

The stars’ stories of love will also be featured on a one-hour TV special on Metro Channel that will give sneak peek, behind the scenes footage, and exclusive interviews about their experiences during the quarantine.

The ABS-CBN Foundation-led campaign, now on its second phase, aims for the support of 10 million Filipinos in order to serve 300,000 more families, in addition to the 750,000 families that already benefited from it since March.

As of May 31, the “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig” campaign already received over P400 million worth of donations, which were used to buy food and basic necessities for families greatly affected by the quarantine in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal.
