Fornea recently teamed up with Monica Torres, Doy Commendador and Efrain Inigo for the mixed relay and won the bronze. Previous to the mixed relay, Torres won the gold for the women’s individual and Joey de los Reyes won the silver for the men’s individual.

These national athletes, together with Fornea, are members of the Standard Insurance Duathlon Team, headed by its Group Chairman Judes Echauz.

The 26-years-old national athlete thanked Standard Insurance for its continued support right from the start when she entered the Philippine Navy as part of the Philippine Navy-Standard Insurance Cycling Team.

Fornea also thanked her cycling and duathlon coach Bernie Llantada, who also coaches the PN-Standard Insurance women’s cycling team, and her USNA running coach Karen Boyle.

Being a sponsored athlete, she vowed to advance her training through the combination of indoor and outdoor practice sessions in compliance with the quarantine protocols and procedures imposed by the national government.
