The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development on Friday lauded its attached agencies for Lanao del Sur’s Marawi City rehabilitation.
“The Marawi City rehabilitation is on target,” Secretary Eduardo del Rosario said.
He said national and regional directors from various government agencies had committed to complete their projects within the Dec. 21 deadline set by Task Force Bangon Marawi for all infrastructure projects inside the most affected area.
He told the implementing agencies to target an earlier completion date.
“Work double time with your respective projects, coordinate among yourselves to ensure that all projects are synchronized and will go full blast by next month,” he said.
“If you have to work 12 hours a day, do it,” he added.
In a statement, Marawi City Mayor Majul Gandamra said all projects being undertaken by the local government unit are well within the Dec. 2021 target date.
“Ground works have already started inside MAA even before the approval of the special allotment release order,” he said.
The mayor was referring to the P3.56 billion budget approved for release by President Rodrigo Duterte in April and May for the rehabilitation works in Marawi City.
“By July, we will have full-scale construction,” Gandamra vowed.
