Bread maker and Fruitas expand joint venture deal

Fruitas Holdings Inc., a leading food and beverage kiosk operator, expanded its partnership with Pan de Manila by offering Fruitas fresh fruit juices.

Fruitas said Monday in a disclosure to the stock exchange the partnership, formed following the implementation of the Luzon-wide enhance community quarantine, would ensure the availability of its products to customers amid the current difficult market environment

With the partnership, Fruitas fresh fruit juices are available in over 20 Pan de Manila stores in the densely populated cities of Manila, Mandaluyong, Pasig, and Quezon City.

Certain Pan de Manila stores in Cebu are also expected to carry Fruitas fresh fruit juices once the quarantine in that area is also lifted.

Fruitas and Pan de Manila plan to expand the partnership to over 100 Pan de Manila outlets nationwide upon full rollout.

“We are extremely excited with our partnership with Pan de Manila as we are both aligned in our mission to serve fresh local products to Filipinos. We owe it to our customers, employees, partners, and shareholders to ensure that more Filipinos gain the benefits from our healthy products even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and as we emerge from it,” said Fruitas president and chief executive Lester Yu.

The partnership is in line with the company’s strategic initiative of diversifying distribution channels to expand sales and profits.

Both partners will also explore opportunities to offer more Fruitas products in Pan de Manila stores and realize further synergies between the two groups.

Fruitas as of end 2019 operated 1,068 stores across the country and over 20 brands in its portfolio. This includes well-loved food concepts Fruitas Fresh from Babot’s Farm, Buko Loco, Buko ni Fruitas, De Original Jamaican Pattie, Johnn Lemon, Juice Avenue, Black Pearl, Friends Fries, The Mango Farm, 7,107 Halo Halo Islands, Tea Rex, Kuxina, Shou La Mien Hand Pulled Noodles, and Sabroso Lechon. It recently launched the Soy & Bean soy product line.

Certain Fruitas products are available for delivery in Metro Manila through CocoDelivery, accessible by dialing #8COCO (#82626), and in Metro Cebu.

Fruitas last week reported a 10-fold increase in demand for its products via online delivery.

To address the increasing demand, Fruitas expanded the delivery service both in terms of product scope and geographical coverage.
