Huawei has joined the global stage in its fight against Covid-19 by offering its cloud and AI technologies free of charge for medical and educational institutions affected by the contagious disease that has so far infected 1.1 million and claimed more than 59,000 lives.
“Huawei provides free package to the companies. We offer 1500 hours for any company which applied online. The companies were in good support in this critical time,” President of HUAWEI CLOUD Global Market, Deng Tao said.
In the health sector, the EIHealth is free of charge, which includes services such as viral genome detection, antiviral drug in silico screening, and AI-assisted CT patient screening service.
For the education sector, Huawei Cloud worked with partners to provide online education services for schools and other educational institutions.
Huawei is also helping enterprises migrate businesses to the cloud to ensure continuous operations while the pandemic continues to disrupt the global supply chain and drives the economy to a halt.
Tao added that Huawei aims to do good for the global community because it is embedded in Huawei’s DNA to help its partners.
“That is part of Huawei’s DNA. To work with partners," he said.
HUAWEI CLOUD has also released the Anti-COVID-19 Partner Program, a program focused on five main scenarios: remote office, AI support, enterprise assistance, smart healthcare, and online education.
Partners who participate in this program can not only obtain comprehensive business, technological, and market support, but will also have the opportunity to obtain free cloud resources worth up to $30,000.
Huawei has also donated medical supplies to countries heavily affected by the virus such as the USA and Spain, but Tao said that the company’s primary strategy still is on technology to fight the virus.
“Huawei local office has been donating a lot of medical materials to the local countries to fight the virus. We have donated masks in Spain and New York. However, Huawei is not a medical player. We use the technology way to fight the virus,” he said.
