International 3×3 basketball is expected to return to Manila in the coming months.
This was after the International Basketball Federation Central Board approved last week the new dates for the FIBA 3×3 World Tour.
Organizers said they will now hold legs of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour in Doha, Manila, Chengdu, Mexico City and Utsunomiya
The decision was made after first five Masters events were postponed to the second semester due to the current situation with the Coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak.
This was done in order to protect the health and safety of players, coaches, officials and fans.
The Manila and Chengdu Masters are now planned to be done from Aug. 15 to 16, and from Oct. 17 to 18, respectively.
The Doha, Mexico City and Utsunomiya Masters will no longer take place as originally scheduled. A new date will be announced.
As for the two remaining FIBA 3×3 Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, the FIBA Central Board will decide on the new schedule.
This is in order to find the best solution for the scheduling of the remaining six Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, the FIBA said in statement.
The Philippines is fielding in Philippine Basketball Association players CJ Perez and Moala Tautuaa teamed up with Joshua Munzon and Alvin Pasaol to form the Philippine 3×3 team.
