ABS-CBN’s ‘Pantawid ng Pag-ibig’ raises P256.6M for Filipinos affected by quarantine

Filipinos are coming together to help families affected by the enhanced community with donations and pledges to ABS-CBN’s “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig” fund-raising campaign already reaching P256,663,658 as of March 23.

‘Pantawid ng Pag-Ibig’ proceeds will be used to purchase food and daily needs of families with family members who are unable to work or continue their livelihood because of the enhanced community quarantine.

After the Lopez Group of Companies’ initial P100 million donation, individuals and groups from all over the world have been placing their trust and support on the network’s drive in partnership with private companies and local governments to provide poor families in Metro Manila with food and basic necessities.

This includes the P100 million pledge of Project Ugnayan, a collaboration of 20 top business groups to raise funds in support of initiatives for the benefit of poor families. They are (in alpahabetical order): Aboitiz Group, ABS-CBN/Lopez Group, Alliance Global, AY Foundation and RCBC, Ayala Corporation, Bench & Liwayway Group, Caritas Manila, Century Pacific, Concepcion Industrial Corp, DMCI, ICTSI, Jollibee, Leonio Group, Metrobank/GT Capital, Nutri-Asia, PDRF, PLDT/Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, Puregold, San Miguel Corporation, and SM/BDO.

ABS-CBN is thankful to all the donors for their generosity and kindness, and ensures that donations will reach our countrymen with the help of our partner organizations and local government units.

Millions of donations poured in in March 22’s Pantawid ng Pag-ibig: At-Home Together Concert where over 100 Kapamilya artists performed from their own homes, shared words of support and encouragement for our frontliners, and urged the public to help our less-fortunate Kapamilyas. The digital fund-raising concert was streamed on iWant and other ABS-CBN platforms online and aired live on ABS-CBN, S+A, ANC, MYX, DZMM TeleRadyo, DZMM Radyo Patrol 630, MOR 101.9, and on The Filipino Channel (TFC) for those abroad.

The funds raised by ABS-CBN through “Pantawid ng Pag-Ibig” will be used to purchase food and daily needs of families with family members who are unable to work or continue their livelihood because of the enhanced community quarantine. The items needed include rice, canned goods, noodles, biscuits, milk, coffee, shampoo, soap, detergent, vitamins.

Distribution of relief packages already began last week, with Metro Manila mayors taking the lead in preparing and delivering the relief packages to the families in need. With more help coming in from both the public and private sectors, and the continued trust and cooperation of local government officials, ABS-CBN hopes to extend the campaign to areas beyond Metro Manila where many other Filipinos are also in need of help.
