Bar examinees told to focus on their review

Supreme Court Associate Justice Marvic Leonen has urged examinees for this year’s Bar Examinations to focus on their studies and review instead of asking for a postponement of the country’s most grueling state examinations.

Leonen, who is chairman of the 2020 Committee on Bar Examinations, said while many of the activities and schedules have been postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic, Bar applicants should not be distracted and continue preparing for the exams scheduled in November.

“Whether the Bar will be postponed is not yet a relevant question. Study instead,” Leonen said in his Twitter account.

“To all aspiring lawyers: Do not start with the habit of asking for postponements. Live with the reality that there are deadlines for you to keep for those who will trust you to deliver. Learn to deal with difficult challenges along the way,” he added.

With the enhanced community quarantine in effect, Leonen advised those who would take the Bar Exams this year to allocate time to study.

Emphasizing the hashtags #BarNovember2020, #BarTip, and #Attitude, Leonen implored Bar takers to structure their day, balance their activities, address their family and their personal needs; eat well, exercise, and set aside enough time for study.

The Bar Exams is scheduled on the four Sundays of November.
