I know this is the title of Ms. Tina Turner’s iconic ‘80s pop anthem, pardon me for being so unoriginal but it happens to be the best question to ask the Guidecellis, Matteo and Sarah, who recently tied the knot in a not-so-secret manner, thanks but no thanks to the Geronimo’s bodyguard who spilled the beans to Mommy Divine, the mother dearest of the newest Guidecelli family member.
So, what has love got to do with all these? A lot, of course. Read on and for starters, here’s Giancarlo Vittorio’s Instagram post about his wedded bliss. He wrote: “02 20 2020, a day full of pure love, honesty, and genuine emotions. Yes, we got married. Mr. and Mrs. Guidicelli. First and foremost, we would like to express the overwhelming joy, love, and excitement we have in beginning our life together.”
As for the reason why the matrimonial ceremony was veiled in hush, explained Guidecelli, “We decided to keep everything as intimate as possible because of private matters. Each and every one of you have been part of our love journey and we want to say, Thank you. Friends, family and everyone on “social media” have been a source of inspiration, strength, and most importantly, of love.”
With regard to the alleged altercation, Mr. Guidicelli narrates, “That evening was almost perfect until some unexpected events took place, but don’t worry I never “punched” anyone. I will forever stand up and protect my wife just as how my father would protect my whole family. I would like to say thank you to my family for loving Sarah like a daughter. Our family is growing and we are blessed. Papa and mama, thank you for deeply loving and welcoming Sarah into our family.”
“In time, with God’s grace and Love, everything will heal and fall into place. We are happy, we are blessed, and we are husband and wife! Let’s always celebrate life and love! Nothing will ever defeat pure honest LOVE. God bless everyone for your love and support! Again, from the deepest part of our hearts thank you,” he concludes.
His post ended with a “sincerely” and signed it as “Mr. and Mrs. Guidicelli.”
Of course, there is another kind of love that is also part of this supposedly happily ever after picture, the maternal kind, which mommy Divine is showing, in full display, bed bugs, warts and all.
Sadly, the mother of Sarah’s love for her daughter, her desire to protect and save her from the romantic clutches and machinations of Matteo, leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.
In this all-out war she currently wages against the newly-weds, the mother hen Geronimo, has failed miserably to gain and receive the emotional backup and support from the Guidecelli’s adoring public.
Whatever Mommy Divine does will always be misconstrued and treated with a lot of disdain and mistrust because the perception of her, that she is the biggest stage mother this side of local Tinseltown, is magnified and raised ten folds with her manner of “mishandling” the situation which is not to her favor.
When she grants an exclusive interview to side her version of the truth, even if it is complete with a cracking voice and a well-cued breakdown, people will immediately conclude, crocodile tears are what she sheds.
If she hurls hurtful words, that may or may not involve cursing and foul language to the couple and Matteo’s family, in a snap, all will deduce, she is a truly Maleficent incarnate. Well, well… well.
By any chance she articulates that all she wanted was to protect the supposed billion worth of assets daughter has, immediately, the public’s cry will be, “We told you so, it is really all about Sarah’s money.”
Mommy Divine is in a no win situation as of the moment. What can redeem and save her from this quagmire and turn the tide, is to accept fully and wholeheartedly, that her daughter Sarah is in love with Matteo, and that this marriage that they share, she gives her blessing and acceptance, one-hundred and ten percent. Her daughter’s happiness and the beginning of their new forever is of most utmost importance.
I cannot help but wonder why Mommy Divine is so against the union and Matteo. If we are to be blunt about it, the young gentleman could have married somebody of his “kind,” affluent, illustrious, with a family name that belongs to Manila’s famous 100. And yet, his heart and being chooses to marry Sarah, who comes from a simple family that made her toil, using her talent and charisma, to give her family the luxury and lifestyle they currently possess. She was not born with a silver spoon, so to speak, unlike Matteo, so it comes as a puzzlement why Sarah’s mommy dearest is so against and aghast with this reality.
What happens next? A church wedding for the two, perhaps? Let time heal all the bruises and wounds. And the arrival of a baby Guidecelli definitely, will bring joy, wonder, and peace to all these love troubles.
I hope and pray that Mommy Divine rises above her fears and sentimentality and trust the fact that love, especially the most romantic and true, wins all the time.
