Gapate said applicants who have at least a four-year college degree are eligible to apply as Registration Officers. Those who have Civil Service Commission eligibility will be given preference.

Forty of the 140 vacant slots are for registration officers (starting with Salary Grade 14) who will be assured of becoming permanent employees, while the remaining 100 will serve as encoders.

Twenty teams will be formed to go down to the barangay level for data gathering, Gapate said.

The national ID System will be implemented starting this May as embodied under Republic Act 11055 or the Philippine Identification System Act of 2018. Orlan Mauricio

The system aims to unify in just one ID card all basic information about a person’s identity, which is mandated by law to be honored by both private and government offices.

The ID card will be given free to all and will include the name, sex, date of bith, blood type, address, marital status, contact number and e-mail address, fingerprint and picture of the holder. Orlan Mauricio
